If you’re anywhere near Girdwood, Alaska—skiing Alyeska Resort, touring in the area, or flying with Chugach Powder Guides—Powder Hound Ski Shop is the ski-in, ski-out shop to visit.
We’ve been getting work done at Powder Hound since they opened, and with four MasterFit University certified bootfitters on staff, quick turnarounds on tunes and mounts (PH’s ski tech, Corey Anderson, does all the ski tuning for Chugach Powder Guides), and over 130 ski, snowboard, outerwear, helmet, and goggle brands for sale in the shop, Powder Hound prides themselves on offering great service and products.
Furthermore, Powder Hound’s demo fleet of over 45 skis allows customers to try almost every ski they carry (99% of them) before making a buying decision. It’s pretty rare for someone to come in and buy a ski without first walking over to the chairlift at Alyeska Resort and demoing it.
And finally, Powder Hound knows what they’re talking about. They know which skis work well in Alaska’s coastal snow and which don’t, and they’re not going to send you out on a pow day on 75mm-wide rental skis.
