It’s about 5 hours to Wanaka from Canterbury. The drive is breathtaking, and the lakes along the way are arresting
After several beautiful roadside stops, we arrived at night in Wanaka, and the town welcomed us with fireworks
Technically, the fireworks were part of the closing ceremonies for the 2013 New Zealand Winter Games, but whatever. We still felt welcome.
In the morning, we woke up to this
Then headed up to Treble Cone.
The roadside views did not get any worse
And when you actually get to Treble Cone, the views somehow manage to get better still
Right now, Taos Ski Valley is the place to be. But don't just take our word for it, go ahead and take a look....
BLISTER is hitting the road and kicking off its North American ski and snowboard review season. We compiled some of our favorite shots from the road this past year, and figured we'd share them as we prepare to do it all over again. Enjoy.
