Preview: 2015-2016 Line Pandora 95

Ski: 2015-2016 Line Pandora 95

Available Lengths: 152, 162, 172

Stated Dimensions (mm): 130-95-115

Stated Average Sidecut Radius: 13.8 meters

Stated Weight per Ski: 1,500 grams (162cm length)

The redesigned Line Pandora has been one of my favorite all-mountain skis over the last two seasons, so I was excited to see that it’s returning, unchanged, for the 2015-2016 season.

What’s also exciting is that Line is adding a narrower version of the ski, the Pandora 95, to their women’s lineup.

As a soft-snow oriented one-ski quiver, I love the Pandora’s 110mm width, but I haven’t been skiing it quite as often this season given the lack of snow in western Colorado. The Pandora’s performance on firm snow is decent, but conditions have gotten pretty slick around the mountain, so narrower skis have been preferable.

The Pandora 95 will have the same same shape and dimensions as the 14/15 Line Sick Day 95, but will be built with a slightly lighter aspen core. The ski could be a great option for ladies who feel like the 110mm-underfoot Pandora might be a little too much for their daily driver (given where or how they ski) or want something more directional than the Line Soulmate 98. I love the shape of the Pandora, and am excited to see how the Pandora 95 compares, especially on groomers, firmer snow, and in bumps.

  1. Just wondering why the change in the format. The last 10 ski reviews haven’t been reviews at all. Just intros. Only one was called a Profile. The rest seemed like they would be a review but were far from that. Looking forward to some actual great reviews like in the past and not loving the tease to be honest.

  2. Andrew:
This isn’t a change in format. The guys did the same thing after last years SIA. These are previews of skis announced at the show for the 2015/2016 season. Believe the commentary is intended to provide some initial thoughts on the ski, context, observations on what is new or changed, before the ski is actually on the snow when a full review can take place.

    • I don’t remember that but maybe my memory is going;). Maybe they should differentiate by saying preview in the title as they had sometimes in the past?
