Background

When I was 10 years old, a good friend introduced me to mountain biking, and it quickly became my passion.

Growing up in New Hampshire, the abundant roots and rocks on the local trails challenged my riding skills and drove me to improve. I will always think fondly of dark dirt corners where tires stick like Velcro, and slippery chutes filled with mud, roots, and granite.

There is no longer much mud in my life now that I have moved to Utah (a state with seemingly no mud season), but I have learned to love dry trails and the high speed, flowy riding that abounds out here.

When I wasn’t out riding, I managed to find the time to receive an engineering degree from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College, then track down a job developing medical devices for a company focused on neural diagnostic tools and signal acquisition systems for neuroprosthetics.

My enjoyment of mountain biking inspires me to introduce as many of my friends to the sport as I can. In high school, I taught at a mountain biking camp for kids (Coyote Hill in Fairlee, Vermont), and in college, I started a mountain biking club to help connect interested students with bikes, instruction, and trails.

Seeing someone pick up the sport and enjoy it has proved to be every bit as rewarding to me as riding a favorite trail.
