Background

I grew up in Michigan riding Pando, “The Birthplace of Competitive Snowboarding,” and lapping the towropes thousands of times each season. The hill was roughly 100 vertical feet, and as soon as I could, I moved west to bigger mountains. I’ve lived in Crested Butte, Breckenridge, Park City, Washington, and am currently nesting in Salt Lake City.

Big jumps and big mountains are my favorite areas to ride my snowboard, and I’ve been fortunate to center my lifestyle around the pursuit of snow.

This past summer I had the opportunity to coach at Windells Camp at Mt. Hood, and have ridden across the country competing in events such as the U.S. Open, Aspen Open, and the Legendary Banked Slalom at Mount Baker.

This season, I plan to compete in the North Face Masters and attend Tailgate Alaska, as well as Snowboarder Magazine’s “Superpark,” taking a small step away from the double corks and front blunt 450s that have taken over snowboarding. The crew I ride with varies depending on the resort and terrain, but the Windells coaches, Lick The Cat crew, and mentors such as Christian Robertson and John Chorlton are some of the people I enjoy taking turns with most.

In my off season and free time, I attend Westminster College, work at a shop, intern for Team Utah Snowboarding, spend time writing, and will be hosting a contest in Michigan over Christmas. When and if I do get the opportunity to relax, I enjoy backpacking, hiking, skateboarding, mountain biking, and fly-fishing. Fly High, Go Far.
